Corruption in Crimea: 50 cases in 2002

Criminal responsibility
Last year alone more than 50 people, including tax militia and customs officials, lawyers and state employees of different levels, were brought to criminal responsibility for corruption and malfeasance in the Crimea, according to Crimean Deputy Prosecutor Oleksiy Domnykov.

Bribes up to USD 5,000
Acording to him, all of those people are accused of briberies in the amounts of $200 to $5,000. Domnikov refused to give the names of the corrupt officials, saying that some of the legal cases against them are not settled yet, while some have not been considered at all.
