Passage Hotel - vutlitsya Preobrazhenska 34.
The Passage Hotel is located just next to the Passage shopping mall. The receptionists there just wanna dissuade you away, while the room-keepers upstairs are much nicer. Actually there are many inexpensive hotels along the street, all are of the same standard.
Passage and nearby Tsentralnya are fine, albeit a bit rundown Hotels in art deco buildings. They are located bang on desribaskaya central pedestrian area. Costs are 10-35$ depending on room.

Just grab a babuska at the train station when you arrive. should cost about USD10 for two. If opera season is still running, see if you can't bribe one of the pensioner attendants into squeezing you into a box, because the dragons at the box office will no doubt tell you that it's been booked out years in advance. but although you've greased their palms ever so slightly before getting into the box, expect another knock on the door just at the crescendo. fabulous scam! |
