Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) is to launch its own inquiry into the incident during the Euro 2004 qualifying match between Georgia and Russia, UEFA reported on October 14.

The game in Tbilisi's Lokomotivi stadium on October 12 was halted at half time due to a floodlight failure with the score goalless.

“European football’s governing body said that it would be examining the reasons for the floodlight failure, and would also be ascertaining why it was decided not to replay the game on Sunday, in accordance with the competition regulations,” the UEFA reports.

The main reason of the power failure is the technical problem. But the version of sabotage is not ruled out as well. Thus the Georgian State Security Ministry is involved in the investigation of the incident.
